Become a successful middle leader and gain your NPQML with Southwark Teaching School Alliance

“It was fantastic to talk to others about their different roles and to get to know everyone. The course aims were very clear. I was made aware of leadership strategies and how they apply to me personally”. 2017/18 participant

The Southwark Teaching School Alliance (STSA) National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership (NPQML) offers aspiring and serving middle leaders the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills and attributes needed to succeed in middle leadership.

Develop an approach to leadership that’s as unique and authentic as you are

There are many ways to be successful as a leader. On our NPQML you will hear from a range of effective, serving leaders who will showcase and reflect on their different approaches to leadership, while encouraging you to develop your own.

National standards, local quality, personalised approach

Our NPQML has been designed with and quality assured by a new, NCTL-approved National Professional Qualification (NPQ) Alliance, encompassing more than 750 schools across England.

The Ambition NPQ Alliance, led by Ambition School Leadership, has drawn on the extensive expertise of its members to design NPQ programmes that have real impact – both on participants and the staff and pupils they work with.

Thanks to our strong track-record in leadership development, STSA is a steering group member of the Ambition NPQ Alliance. In 2017/18, we will deliver the NPQML to a group of no more than 25 aspiring and serving middle leaders, tailoring the programme to meet local challenges and your development needs.

The accredited STSA Programme Lead is a successful serving school leader, who will be with you through every step of your NPQML journey. The 6 half-day modules will be hosted in different local schools, giving you the chance to experience a range of settings over the course of the programme.
