Previous experience of supporting staff or schools:

I am the Director of Finance and Business for Communitas Education Trust. For the past 8 years I have worked for John Donne Primary school as a School Business Manager and Finance Director. John Donne formed an Academy Trust in order to open John Keats Primary School, a new school opening in Rotherhithe in September 2018. During the summer of 2017 Goose Green Primary School joint the trust, where I have overseen their transition into the trust. I have helped set up the MAT and implement functions that work centrally for efficiency and financial savings.

I have previously supported several primary schools within Southwark with post audit action planning, ensuring an effective action plan is available for Headteachers and School Business Managers to return to auditors. I have worked with Headteachers to give them advice about how to plan for managing school catering in house; highlighting various factors such as suppliers, TUPE transfer and how to manage menus. Prior to working in education I worked in retail banking for 10 years where I had a number of roles such as, Customer Advisor, Mortgage Advisor, Branch Manager and expatriate Relationship Manager.

Our main focus was on customer service and I have brought these skills to John Donne and Communitas Education Trust, to ensure we offer high levels of service to parents, Governors, Trustees and other stakeholders. I believe that everyone should be welcomed into the school community and this has led to me assisting Headteachers with reorganisations of their administration teams and reviewing roles and responsibilities. I have previously helped support Albion Primary School, Hollydale Primary School, Oliver Goldsmiths, St Paul’s, Bellenden and Goose Green Primary School in various School Business Management projects.
